August 4th, 2002:

Some more additions, and the addition of the "It Rocks" icon on things that I have found to be awesome.

May 15th, 2002:

In my cyber travels, and through email, I come across all sorts of cool toyz that may be useful for others. In this section of the site, you'll find this - and in future, I hope to have some Open Source downloads that I have worked on. As the list gets larger, it will be split into separate pages. If you have something that you think belongs here, drop me an email.

Arsware.Org: The home of CoolMon (nice system information tool) and the Dead Man's Switch - which will automatically clean up things after a certain period of time. The latter is a pretty cool concept! Many other utilities available.

Code-Genie.Com: Home of the Code Genie Editor, which is a marked improvement over notepad!

Driver Manager: For those of us using Win2k and WinNT, especially developers and network gurus, this app keeps track of all those pesky drivers. A personal favorite!

CoolPlayer: My MP3 player. Nice, light, fast. And Open Source.

ESBCalc: Free Scientific calculator with with Infix Notation, Brackets, Scientific Functions (Trigonometric, Hyperbolic, Logarithmic - including Base 10, Base 2 & Natural - plus more), Memory, Paper Trial, Result History List and more. One of the most useful toyz I have.

Etcetera: The BEST anti-pop up app out - and it adds in functionality so you can search your favorite sites right from your browser. A ***MUST HAVE***.

FontExplorer: Makes managing of fonts on your Windows machine easier. Some other cool apps available here from MoonSoftware.

Free Link Popularity Check: Very cool tool for website administrators. You can check how well you stack up against your competitors with this.

GhostFiles: Ghost a directory - completely, easily... A *must* for serious laptop users.

Googleİsearchtool: A really cool search tool - an asset if you don't have broadband. Multilingual too!

Greatis WinDowse Analyzer: The name says it all.

HotKeyz: HotKeyz is a shortcut utility with shortcut control for executing other files, folders or RUN commands. A must for power users.

IECount: Limit the maximum number of web browsers you can have open at one time. Very, very handy in an age of pop ups - and it can even help admins limit the amount of overhead a user encounters.

IEQuickStart: Open up multiple occurences of IE at the same time - even with passwords. When used in combination withIECount, you have a powerful anti-popup defense on Microsoft based machines.

Isobuster: CD Recovery. It WORKS.

IvanPeters.Com: Present home of the free Joust javascript menu. I considered it for this site, but decided against it for design reasons - but it DOES work, and works well. And it's free, with documentation - though it is now unsupported.

LAN File Searcher: A search through your local LAN...

LinkSpy: A Handy tool for people who do a lot of research on the internet. If you forget to check back to a link from email, or an application - it's easily filed under LinkSpy.

MajorGeeks.Com: McAfee uninstaller, memory optimization... Windows smorgasbord. I check them out now and then to see what new toyz they have for the Windows side of my machine (Mr. Hyde?). Most stuff appears to be NOT free, but... worth looking at.

mIRC: My most used tool. If you miss me, I may be mIRCing...If you use this, use a good firewall - viruses are easy to get through mIRC.

ModemSpy: Record telephone conversations to MP3. Sneaky.

Microsoft Word MVP FAQ Site: Very useful downloads for Microsoft Word.

OpenOffice.Org: Want Microsoft Office and can't afford it? And yes, I am working on some things with it...

PDFtoText: A converter... Tres cool!

RColours: For those interested in the resistance of resistors... for whatever reasons! :)

Power Pro: The Windows Power User's dream...

Shutdown Scheduler: Turn your PC off as scheduled. Maybe if I turned mine off now and then I would find it useful...

StorURL: a small utility that allows you to store all your favorite website URLs with a decriptive title to go along with the URL. Very useful for those of us who surf a lot.

Strat's Wares: ScreenSavers (OpenGL) and 'Playlistastic!', a program which allows creation of multimedia playlists.

StrokeIt: A pretty cool app which allows you to automate many things with simple mouse movements. Sadly, I had to uninstall it because it conflicted with some of my games... I didn't find it useful, but I did find it a great idea.

Tiny Key Logger: Are your children using the internet when you're not around? Tiny Key Logger will be able to tell you exactly what they have been doing.

Vilma's Registry Explorer: For those who are scared of RegEdit.

Wildpackets: IP Subnet calculator.

WS_FTP: The standard for FTPs...
