Some (writing) is praised, but other is read.

August 4th, 2002:
Fixed the annoying CSS problem I was having on this page. Visual Studio 1, CoolNameDenied 1. Hopefully the OpenOffice HTML editor doesn't bite me next... :)
July 25th, 2002:
A Preface to 'Breaking The Asylum' is now available for your reading pleasure.
Updated to add a Professional Writing Page, since articles have become a bit too numerous. Also, below is an update with relations with Poetry.com.
April 19th, 2002:
No new content, slight redesign. If pages were bookmarked within this area, they may not work anymore.
April 2nd, 2002:
Due to design issues on the Poetry.Com site, I have removed the links to my poems on their site. They don't work. Plus, I don't know what kind of site doesn't even have an email address for their webmaster. Pretty pathetic.
However, this has prompted me to post parts of my unfinished book - Breaking The Asylum. So, since tonight I feel as though I am in an asylum, I'll start posting a few of them. You'll find the Breaking The Asylum link on the left, and within it, some of my poems.
Poetry:
In future, I expect to have previously unpublished poems up on this site, but for now, I am providing links to those published through Poetry.Com. Due to their site design (or lack of it!), the poems cannot be directly linked to - and even worse, I can't link directly to those done by myself.
I've yet to receive an email from their site that I can respond to. They've sent me all sorts of emails saying that I'm a potential winner for Poet of the Year 2002, but I've come to find out from various poets I keep in contact with that they, too, have received the same notification. Of course, that stands to reason because I think my friends and family are good poets too - but the odds of all of us getting the same honor is rather low. Of course, they offer large awards, but ask $600+ US of a humble poet to attend.
My poems are supposedly available in book form, BUT - I have only authorized release of The Answer Awaited to Poetry.com. No other poems have been released for them to publish in book form. If, for some strange reason, you have actually purchased a book with any other poem but The Answer Awaited in it, please inform me.
They requested my authorization for having someone I have never met to read my poem, but I declined by not authorizing it. Poets beware!
However, if you do visit their site, type in my last name ( Rampersad ) and first name ( Taran ) - you'll be able to view them there.
